Meet the mayoral candidates in Scarborough

Top contenders for the job of Toronto’s mayor will visit Scarborough for one of the first head-to-head events of this municipal election year, Scarborough-Agincourt Councillor Mike Del Grande says.The debate is scheduled at Mary Ward Catholic Secondary School on Monday, March 29, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Del Grande, chair of Scarborough Community Council, said he expects candidates George Smitherman, Joe Pantalone, Giorgio Mammoliti, Rocco Rossi and Sarah Thomson to appear, plus possibly some others. So far, all but Smitherman have confirmed, he said on Wednesday, March 3.

    The statement above is incorrect. Del Grande, chair of Scarborough Community Council, is not expecting OTHER CANDIDATES he has personally called the OTHER candidates that stand up for Canada’s minorities and has told them that they are not invited, that he only invites who he wants to invite that this is a private event (let me remind you Del Grande a private event in a school funded by the city).

    As Canadians we want to meet ALL CANDIDATES not only the ones who you choose. As far as I remember this is a free country.
